How Virtual Events Have Changed How Businesses Think
What do you choose, live events or virtual events? Are we going to be free to go back out to live events again or is there another locked down on the horizon?
Over the past 20 months, since COVID was declared as a Pandemic in March 2020, we have all had to face some big hurdles, especially if your business or services are linked to the live events industry. This has ultimately meant for many of us, how we operate our business, offer our services, and connect with our customers and clients has had to change.
In this new ‘post pandemic world’, many of us will be looking for solutions around how we can continue to go about our daily business, with the legacy of what the pandemic has left behind, and the spectre of what might still come, in addition to how the economy will react to this and what further disruptions it can possibly throw our way.
Now that being said, I’m sure if you are anything like us, we want to be in control of our business future and not be victim to outside forces which we cannot control, which seems to have ravaged many of the creative sectors. It appears, some of the hardest hit are the businesses that are in or connected to the live entertainment and events industry with its many inter-linked creative sub suppliers that rely on content and tech creation work that the live events-based industries generate.
With many of these types of businesses finally being able to resume some kind of new normal, there is still the uncertainty of how their audiences will want, or be able to, experience live events. This is ultimately forcing companies to look at pivoting into more future proof models, as they observe that in their imposed hibernation, the rest of the world just turned virtual. This dilemma has posed awkward decisions for many businesses that operate in this sector to make, including, “will the desire for physical interaction and events be as robust as pre pandemic times?” or, “has the usefulness of well thought out interactive virtual or Hybrid versions of these events meant that they are going to be here to stay?” Especially, as many of the companies that trialled this, found that their ability to reach further and run for longer at a fraction of the cost was something that they simply could not ignore.
So, if you have read this far, you are probably already thinking about how you pivot from your existing model of live events and are curious in how you can extend your experience and embrace ‘hybrid type virtual experiences’ so you can continue to share your product or services with the world, whilst being partially protected, just in case another wave of restrictions is forced upon us.
Now, it is not all doom and gloom, it’s far from it, because what ultimately happened since mid 2020 to the current day, has shown us that our ability to react to these unforeseen challenges and virtualise complete services and products into an online hosted experience and quickly, is achievable and more importantly can be accessible to all, not just the big players with deep pockets. The technology, software and knowledge required to do this (which had previously been predicted to be ready for around 2025) actually encountered a rapid acceleration, as many of the huge tech and comms companies that provided the platforms for us to get online and connect with each other, were forced into a space where it was ‘do or die’. Consumption was quickly outstripping supply and it is my opinion that many of them rose to the challenge to enable businesses and consumers direct to keep functioning, with minimal downtime and inconvenience and mobilising us into a new virtual way of working and consuming content, services, information and entertainment which is here to stay and will only continue to grow.
So, you may be asking, how can we speak with such authority about this? The reason is, because we have been on the ‘bleeding edge’ of our particular industry where we have been ‘Making The Impossible Real’ for the last 15 years, where CGI and digital content meets technology and software development, to give us the next evolution of real-time interactive, cloud hosted digital content solutions. Our unique team of experts have drawn upon decades of experience consulting and creating content, experiences and software solutions for some of the biggest global brands in the world. Experience where we are asked to solve complex problems whilst guiding many brands and businesses forward so that they can embrace digital and creative virtualisation in ways they had never considered before, previously hampered by the fear of the unknown or internal structures that prohibited them from thinking outside of the box.
So how can this unique knowledge and technology advancements that we have developed apply to you and your business? It is our aim to give you the tools and platform for you to enter 2022 full of confidence whilst armed with an innovative new memorable product experience that will amaze and engage your audiences. We do this by demystifying the complicated and giving you all the services that you need, to successfully deploy your experience, by providing an end to end solution from design and discovery to service level support while your experience is live.
